Description

Itinerary:

Travel dates:   29th October 2017, 11th February, 27th May, 29th July, 26th August, 21st October 2018

Duration:         Sunday night x 3 nights

Schedule:
Day 1 – Arrival at Samlesbury Hall and check-into your modern shepherd’s hut.  Get to know the grounds and check to see if your Melon Holidays neighbours have arrived!  There are free guided tours of the hall every Sunday at 11am and 2pm, make sure that you don’t miss one!  Which resident guide will you have?  Will it be Janey The Witch, King Henry the VIII or one of the other amazing historians?  Their stories are guaranteed to have you laughing one minute and screaming the next!

Day 2 – If you have arranged to have a cooked breakfast, this will be in the restaurant of the Hall or in Dotties Wafflery.  What do you have planned for the day?  Why not enjoy the grounds of the hall or head out to explore the local area.  If you brought your bikes, you could have a ride around the Guild Wheel that circles Preston.

Day 3 – Again, if you have booked breakfast you know where to go.  As it is the school holidays, there is likely to be an organised activity on at the hall that the children can join in with.  Alternatively, you could spend the day at the coast – relax at St Anne’s beach or watch the variety of wildlife at the RSPB Discovery Centre in Fairhaven.

Day 4 – You will need to vacate your hut by 11am today.  Make the most of your last day in the area by heading over to the thrills and spills in Blackpool or tuck into some tasty fish and chips in pleasant Lytham.  We hope that you have enjoyed your weekend at Samlesbury Hall!

Check-in: 2pm – 5pm
Check-out: 11am
As the Hamlet is not part of a hotel, there is no 24-hr reception so please arrive within the allocated check-in times.  If this is not possible, please call 01254 812010 to make arrangements for key collection.

Accomodation

The Hamlet at Samlesbury Hall is a collection of colourful, modern shepherd’s huts in the grounds of this amazing Grade I listed Tudor building.  We are very excited to be able to offer Melon Holidays customers a glamping break with a difference!  The shepherd’s huts have gas heating and en-suite bathrooms with double bunk beds (or 1 double, 2 single beds) – meaning that they can sleep 1 adult and up to 3 children.  The site also has a small number of double/ twin pods without heating or en-suite bathrooms that can be booked, as an add-on, for larger families.  In the grounds there is an adventure trail, Mayflower playground and a mini-golf course to keep the kids entertained.  Breakfast and lunch can be taken in the Hall’s award-winning restaurant and you can enjoy a sweet treat at Dottie’s Wafflery.
